So I occasionally get a mean hankering for some good, down home bbque. I have found a really great little place out in Imboden but that is a bit far to drive unless we are going to Jonesboro already. A few weeks back we decided to try the Blu Pig on Hwy 62 but it seems they either closed or relocated so I stopped at a gas station in town to ask where it was. The woman there told us about this place that was newer I suppose so we went there since it was right up the street. The first time we went there we had a pulled pork plate and I want to say a beef or brisquet plate. I was not a huge fan of the beef but the pork was really good. I want to say the beef was a little dry but man the pork was very delicious. The plates run about $12.00 which is a little spendy for me based on the portion size so they also have an offering by the pound and platter that works out to more meat I think for a better price. I think you can get a pound and a half of pulled pork with sides and bread for around $26.00 and some change. We will order it that way and eat in the restaurant and then we have leftovers to go home with. I really like their spicy bbque sauce too. It is not overpowering and not really too hot truth be told it has just the right amount of kick and taste to hit my taste buds at the right spot. My girlfriend finds the spicy to be too warm for her liking and goes for the mild instead. What improvements could be made to this place? Probably the biggest improvement would be to change the types of buns offered for the sandwiches. A really fresh kaiser roll would push the menu to the next level but I am not going to give a 4 star review simply based on that. I might also suggest tri-tip with Suzie-Q seasoning Santa maria style with a decent salsa but that is a different kind of bbque altogether...

We have now eaten BBQ 5 times at 4 restaurants over the last 9 days, from south central Missouri to Oklahoma. Holy Smokes is Holy Smokes good! The four of us tried a range of dishes and all agreed it was the best so far. I had the pulled pork and tried it with both types of sauces - "regular" and spicy. Both are tomato based. The spicy was peppery, but not overly. I also ordered smoked corn on the cob. It was juicy, smoky, and spicy. I think it was spicier than their spicy sauce. It was great. The potato salad (with mustard) was also good. Light and sweet Hickory smoke filled the dining area, which provided the best ambience. The only negatives were two that actually seem to support how good Holy Smokes is. The first night we tried to go there, they were closed an hour early. We learned they make their BBQ fresh every day and can only make so much. As a result, they closed early. The next day, when it became time for dessert, they were already out of peanut butter pie. I was bummed. The cherry cobbler was no substitute and just ok. Overall, I wish I could go back there tomorrow!

Food was good, and our server was friendly. We sat out on the patio, the tables & chairs out there were in poor condition, rusty and wobbly. My biggest complaint is with the portions. The brisket sandwich is 6, and comes with no sides. I guess I was expecting more for a 6 sandwich. There were only 5 small slices of brisket on it. Maybe 3oz. Should have been more. That said I'd probably still go back. Best BBQ I've had in Mountain Home.

I got the rib sandwich with a side of their spicy BBQ sauce...amazing! The employees were friendly and the food was yummy!

We pulled into the parking lot starving at 10:30am (traveling & was up early without breakfast) ready to wait till 11 for lunch. The owner was out back & told us to come on in. Super nice people & AMAZING FOOD! We are Texans & we know our bbq, this place was awesome. Seriously the best potato salad (Brent's) & perfect coleslaw. We tried jalapeño sausage, mild sausage & ribs (all great) also baked beans were tasty. Son got deviled eggs & said they didn't taste right but he's 12 & thinks he's the deviled egg master so... I think we ate our weight in this place. $9 for our huge sausage platters that came w/ 2 sides, a roll & a pickle. Hubby's rib platter was $13. Great value

I came here not really knowing what to expect. I'm from Kansas City and we do BBQ right. However, I saw the reviews and that was enough for me to check it out. I'm glad I did because I was not disappointed. The staff was very welcoming, the waitress gave recommendations and she was very personable. I walked in and felt like I had been there before. That was a good feeling. But even better than that was the food. Mmm mmm mmm!!! I ordered the 2 Combo sampler which included the brisket and ribs with smoked sweet corn and baked beans. The food was DELICIOUS!! The meat was tender and falling off the bones. I also ordered the peanut butter pie for dessert. Again, it was a pleasant surprise. It was like heaven in my mouth! This place was all around great. Good customer service goes a long way and the staff was truly hospitable. If you're in the area, check it out. You won't be disappointed!

Too expensive for a little bare bones restaurant. No sides were included with the hamburger size sandwiches. Pickles were to be included but they were out of them! Next time...well there won't be a next time.

I am from Texas and am a bit of a BBQ snob. We were the only ones here on a Tuesday night, and I have no idea why. This is really good BBQ. The brisket and jalapeño sausage were great. I travel a lot for work and eat BBQ all over the country, and this ranks up pretty high on the list.

Best BBQ in town. The brisket was spicy and tender - chicken had good flavor and tasty skin. The beans and potato salad were tasty and unique. This is a great addition Mountain Home. It was really busy when we were there but service was quick and very friendly. Four stars only because I've had a lot of excellent BBQ in Texas. This is good but not the same as excellent BBQ elsewhere. Saw someone gave a one star rating because they couldn't find the place. That is pretty mean. The food is very good and the location is easy to find unless you work for a competing BBQ restaurant...

Being from Chicago I can be a BBQ snob...with that said this place rocks. The waitress was so pleasant. I had the brisket and jalapeño sausage both were crazy good. My husband had the brisket and pulled pork along with the famous potato salad. Thumbs up peeps!!
